TNGEO Provides Tennessee with Covid-19 Analytic Dashboard

Covid-19 hit fast, and like the rest of the nation, Tennessee was trying to provide it's residents with the most up-to-date information on the virus. In the early days of the pandemic, True North created a COVID-19 Operations Dashboard that updates every day from official Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) statistics. These statistics includes total cases, total test, total negatives, fatalities, recovered, and ever hospitalized number reports. The Dashboard visually represents cases by county in a colored map breakdown of Tennessee and percentages of cases by age in a circle chart.

In addition to this publicly viewed dashboard, True North, with the direction of the Tennessee Emergency Communications Board (TECB), created patient location dashboards from official TDH records, individualized for each of the 100 Emergency Communications Districts (ECDs). The functionality included tabular look-ups for all patients within the district, address search, a heat map of general locations at a small scale, and individual point locations at a large scale. Scripts were written so that TECB staff could update the published layers without True North ever seeing the data. Personalized links and login credentials were distributed to the ECDs, and PSAP personnel were able to see if 9-1-1 caller locations were co-located with a COVID-19 patient(s).
